From 1996 to 2002, he was involved in various management roles within Phillips Fox New Zealand and Australia. They included roles as the management partner for the Auckland office, responsible for the operations of that office and its key client relationships. During 2002, he was responsible for the management of the New Zealand operations of Phillips Fox. From September 2002 to July 2005 he was part of the senior management team at Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu, managing a team responsible for legal, policy and political strategy issues. Philip Griffiths

Richard
is the founding partner of Catalyst Consulting. He has been working with lawyers for more than
35 years - first as a client representative, then as a legal executive with a national firm,
and for the last 16 years as a legal services consultant. His practice is focused
on corporate/government legal departments. Consulting engagements cover the
spectrum of business strategy, organizational issues, performance and legal economics.
Richard is a frequent speaker at conferences and publishes regularly. He has completed more than 500 consulting
engagements for law departments, law firms and legal associations
in Canada, the U.S., Australia and Europe over the last 16 years.
Richard is a serious cook. His research extended to on-site sampling in Italy in 2004, Napa, Paris, Savannah and Australia in 2005, and New Zealand in 2006. He
has returned to Paris, Australia and New Zealand several times in the last few years in the never-ending quest for culinary appreciation.
Denis has been with Catalyst since 1995,
mostly on a part-time basis. He currently supports us on wide
variety of consulting engagements. Among other things, he compiles
data from benchmarking and client satisfaction surveys and
participates in the analyses of law firm financial information and
outside counsel data. He is also very useful in supporting the team
when computer glitches occur on the road. Denis graduated from Bishop's University in the Eastern Townships with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
When he isn't busy
with his full-time work in Montreal or with Catalyst work, he
busies himself with his second career in the Canadian Forces
Primary Reserve as a Regimental Sergeant-major of the Royal
Canadian Hussars (Mtl).
Peter spent 22 years in private practice in New Zealand and England, ten of them as a commercial/commercial property partner in Phillips Fox Auckland. His practise included acting for a number of institutions and corporate entities involved in large scale property and infrastructure development projects.
Philip’s career commenced as a lawyer working in private practice for 14 years at Corban Revell, Solicitors, Auckland, New Zealand. He was a partner for 8 years including 4 years as the managing partner and took a leading role in the development and management of the practice.
